SIGNED – Brassai, with an introduction by Lawrence Durrell.  Frontispiece by Andre Kertesz.  Museum of Modern Art, New York, New York (U.S.A.), 1968.  First Edition.  Printed in Switzerland.  Signed, “Brassai, (month illegible), 1973.”  79p.  7.75×0.25×8.75.  White pictorial paper wrappers with gray and black titling. Collectible perfect-bound softcover in VERY GOOD condition.  Well-loved book shows age-appropriate wear from previous use and storage.  Wear to spine back, covers, and a limited number of pages.  Slightly sunned covers with turned corners, and rubs to lamination at edges.  Clean interior pages, but several small raised yellow stains on the last page and verso rear cover.  

Frontispiece of the artist by Andre Kertesz, who introduced Brassai to the camera and showed him how to use it on his nightly walks through Paris.  Illustrated with 59 of Brassai’s iconic b&w photographs (49 were taken between 1932-1958 + 10 undated graffiti photos.
