Photographer Dan Bodkin chronicles the creative process of artist David Smith (1906-1965) by observing him at home and in his studio.  Bodkin was one of the few individuals Smith trusted enough to allow him to see the sculptures relegated to the fields on each side of his studio – holding spots where Smith could make final decisions on whether a sculpture was finished enough to show to the public.
