First Edition, First Printing.  142pp.  5.75×8.75×0.50.  Signed/Inscribed in red marker: “To Marquetta Barton with my very best wishes –  O.B. Campbell 1973“.  VERY GOOD COLLECTIBLE hardcover in about Very Good dust jacket.  Black, white and brown dust jacket has surface/shelf wear and small chips to crown and foot of spine, also closed tear along front flap seam – jacket now protected by clear archival cover.  Beige hardcover with dark gray top stain plus black illustration depicting Christian cross, Native American mother, son and daughter with “Sequoyah’s Talking Leaves” by Willard Scott for the Dwight Mission School. Handsome book is bright, tightly bound, square.  All interior pages and 36 b&w photographs clean and unmarked, a few faint spots along the fore edge (see photos).
Remarkable and true historical tale of Christian missionaries who entered Oklahoma territory and met, endured, and shared the same hardships as the Cherokee tribes, while advancing Christian ideals and higher education.
